Mark Zylka is a registered patent attorney and partner.
Mr. Zylka has nearly fourteen years of experience in all aspects of intellectual property law, including the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications, trademarks, copyrights, open source software, litigation, opinion work, due diligence, and licensing.
Mr. Zylka has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications directed to mechanical and electro-mechanical inventions. In addition, he guides clients in developing their patent strategies and building their intellectual property portfolios. Mr. Zylka’s represents clients of various sizes from small business concerns to Fortune 500 companies.
In his practice, Mr. Zylka has gained a deep understanding of a wide-range of technologies. Examples of such technologies include autonomous vehicles, turbochargers, hydrogen fuel cells, automotive systems, gas turbine engines, power generation, water quality enhancement systems, data processing systems, communication devices and associated software and device management systems, medical devices, solar powered lighting systems and controls, storm protection systems, and consumer products.

Prior Industry Employment
Prior to pursuing a career in law, Mr. Zylka worked as a structures and survivability engineer at General Dynamics Land Systems, where he developed structure designs, from concept through production, for military combat vehicles. He also led multi-disciplinary teams in the integration of new hardware systems into military vehicles. As a co-op engineer, he also gained experience in the design, testing, and inspection of airbag inflators.
